We had the most fantastic day in the sunshine today marking National Bike Week with a bike skills day. A huge thank you to Ronan Tuomey, a former pupil who represents Ireland at national level in cycling and his coach Will from Cork Giant Store in Ballincollig. A great day was had by all!
Another successful week for Scoil Mhaoilíosa. We received the Discover Primary Science and Maths Award. Thanks to Mrs O’ Callaghan for co-ordinating the project and to all the teachers for their hard work! 🔬🔭⚗️
Our school garden has never looked so well. The Muintir na Tíre judges came out to us last week and were really impressed with our progress since last year and enjoyed hearing about our polytunnel. A huge thank you to our green fingered SNAs Mrs Lynch & Mrs O’ Sullivan, to our teachers and parents who helped us along the way!
2nd class experienced the most magical day when they visited Glenview Gardens in Enniskeane. They loved the fairy houses, the Chinese & Japanese gardens, the Teddy Bears picnic, goats & hens; but the Hobbit House was the outstanding favourite!
This day will go down in the school’s history as the most magical day for the school on the GAA field. The first time ever to win a double. The girls won back to back camogie finals. We also had 3 3 brothers on the boys team! Scoil Mhaoilíosa abú!
The final day of the Craft Ed project. We thoroughly enjoyed the drawing, sewing, wet felting and printing. Next Tuesday we will get an opportunity to showcase the fruits of our labour at the West Cork Education Centre and see what the other schools who participated in the project did. A big thank you to Textile Artist Anne Kiely for a fantastic experience!
