We presented the funds raised for the Irish Cancer Society to Nicola McMahon when she visited the school last week.  €755 was raised thanks to the Cairdeas Coffee Morning.  The Irish Cancer Society relies heavily on donations by the public.   Nicola asked us to pass on their sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the coffee morning a success.

You have until tomorrow (Wednesday) to drop your shoebox to school.

We ask you to fill a shoebox with a range of simple Christmas gifts explained in the leaflet sent home with the kids during the week.  Include €4 in an envelope, either on top of the gifts or taped to the inside of the lid.  Don’t forget to indicate whether your box is for a BOY or a GIRL.

Golden Leaf Awards

By | 2018-10-25T11:56:37+00:00 October 25th, 2018|Photos, School News|0 Comments

The Golden Leaf Awards have been introduced as a way of encouraging and rewarding positive behaviours in line with the ethos of the school.  Each week two pupils from every class are nominated for a Golden Leaf by members of staff.  The twelve Golden Leaf Award winners are announced and praised for their great efforts during assembly every Monday.  The children’s names are written onto Golden Leaves which are displayed on ‘The Golden Leaf Tree’ beside the office for the entire week.  The aim of this initiative is to enhance the pupil’s self-esteem and to recognise the pupil’s value within the school community.
